Human Services Director

I am a woman of Mexican ancestry. I have endured slights, innuendo, tokenism and overt discrimination throughout my life.

I'm the daughter and granddaughter of entrepreneurs, the daughter of a WWII Veteran and an advocate for those who struggle with poverty and racism. I'm a patriot.

Unfortunately, regardless who wins, I think that I and others who look like me will be targeted and seen as the reason for others’ troubles. I hope I'm wrong.

As corny as it seems, I put my hand over my heart and sing the national anthem when it's played. This my country, and I'm going to do my part to keep a despot from being elected.
